Professional Contributions & Global Outreach
Dr Tan Eng Loy is a regular contributor to women’s health discussions through articles and symposiums. He is certified by the UK’s Advanced Life Support Group as a trainer for the Managing Medical and Obstetric Emergencies and Trauma (mMOET) course — an internationally recognised programme that equips senior doctors to manage life-threatening complications in pregnancy.
During his time at SingHealth, Dr Tan was also certified as an instructor for the PRactical Obstetric Multi-Professional Training (PROMPT) course. He helped integrate updated PROMPT-based simulation training into local obstetric residency programmes, contributing to improved team-based response during emergencies.
Since 2008, Dr Tan has taught extensively on mMOET and PROMPT courses across the UK, Australia, and New Zealand. From 2016 to 2019, he led several volunteer medical education missions to Bangalore and Bhopal in India. These trips focused on simulation-based obstetric training and were well-received by local clinicians, helping to strengthen maternal and child healthcare services in underserved areas.
